Chefit as a Trainerize alternative: an honest comparison

What Chefit does, what it doesn’t, and when Trainerize is the better choice.

Trainerize, marketed as ABC Trainerize, is a full coaching platform with iOS and Android apps, in-app messaging, workout program delivery and nutrition tools. Chefit is narrower: a web app for running a client roster, bookings and prepaid session balances, with a workout log for you and your clients. If you mainly need a schedule, a roster and a reliable count of paid sessions, Chefit covers that free for up to 3 active clients. If you deliver programs, meal plans and chat inside one app, Trainerize does things Chefit doesn’t.

New accounts get Premium and Pro free for 3 months. No card needed, and nothing is charged when the trial ends.

Free for up to 3 clients

Chefit’s free plan covers 3 active clients with booking, session balances, notes and broadcasts included. Trainerize’s free Basic plan covers one client.

Booking from your weekly hours

Clients request open slots in their own time zone, you approve, and double bookings are refused — on every Chefit plan.

Prepaid session balances

Add a package, and each completed session comes off automatically, with low-balance notices and a history both sides can read.

No per-client price tiers

Trainer Pro removes the client limit at one monthly price, however many clients you coach. The flip side: Chefit has no payments, video or nutrition features at all.

Where Chefit is the better fit

Where Trainerize is the better fit

What Chefit includes

A client roster with join requests, private notes, freeze and remove; a one-way message to all active clients; bookable weekly slots with approval; recurring sessions; prepaid session balances with history and low-balance notices; a read-only calendar link for Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook; and a workout log with templates, a rest timer, personal records and progress charts for you and your clients. Trainer Pro adds unlimited clients and a listing in the public coach catalog.

Switching from Trainerize

Chefit has no import tool. Moving over means sending your clients your invite link, entering each client’s remaining sessions as their starting balance, and setting your weekly working hours. Workout history from another app isn’t imported, so it starts fresh in Chefit. You can also run both: Chefit for bookings and balances, and Trainerize for programs and messaging.

Frequently asked questions

Is Chefit cheaper than Trainerize?

With 3 active clients or fewer, Chefit costs nothing, while Trainerize’s free plan covers one client. Above that, Trainer Pro is one price with no per-client tiers, while Trainerize’s Pro starts at $25/month for 5 clients. But Chefit has no programs, nutrition, chat or payments, so it is only the cheaper option if it does what you need.

Can I use Chefit alongside Trainerize?

Yes. Chefit doesn’t connect to Trainerize, but you can use it only for bookings and session balances and keep programs where they are.

Does Chefit have a mobile app?

Chefit is a web app. It runs in the browser on iPhone, Android and desktop and can be added to the home screen; there is no App Store or Google Play listing.
